After 28 races in 56 weeks, the GP teams were happy to have a break of several weeks in August. With fresh vigor, they will tackle the second half of the 2021 season this weekend at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

The starting position has changed in that Max Verstappen with Red Bull Honda is now back in the role of the hunter after Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes took the championship lead with the defending champion's second place in Hungary.

Michael Weinmann and F1 expert Marc Surer report from the twelfth World Championship round of the year from Belgium. Qualifying can be seen live on SRF info from 2:55 p.m. on Saturday, and the race on Sunday from 2:50 p.m. on SRF zwei (until 4:50 p.m.). Those who prefer to listen to the Austrian commentary will be served at the same broadcast times on ORF1.

As part of Formula 1, the Porsche Supercup will be starting its 300th race since its foundation in 1993, as will the W Series and FIA Formula 3.

The British channel Channel 4, which can also be received here, will broadcast the women's race on Saturday from 4 p.m., while Eurosport 1 will broadcast the Porsche race on Sunday from 12.05 p.m. (including Fabio Scherer as one of three drivers at Fach Auto Tech).

No summer break for Emil Frey Racing
After the total loss of two cars at the Spa 24 Hours a month ago, Emil Frey Racing built two new Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo cars in Safenwil. The team is relieved about the positive recovery of its injured driver Jack Aitken after the shock in Belgium.

Until he has fully recovered, Frenchman Arthur Rougier will take his place as partner of Finn Konsta Lappalainen in the #114.

The two sprint races at Brands Hatch (GB) could have a thoroughly positive outcome for Emil Frey Racing. If Alex Fontana and Ricardo Feller perform well, as they have done several times this year, the man from Ticino and the Swiss team could win the 2021 Sprint Cup early.

Paddock Hill Bend at Brands Hatch is one of the most spectacular corners in the world. Turbulent scenes occurred here at the last appearance of the GT World Challenge 2019.

If the other two pairings also return to top form in England, the ground lost in Belgium can also be made up in the overall standings.

All practice sessions and the two races (on Saturday from 11.45 a.m. and Sunday from 4.30 p.m. CEST) can be watched on the YouTube channel or the homepage of the GT World Challenge Europe.

First car race in Greenland
After a break of around three months, the third round of the Extreme E electric off-road series will be held around Kangerlussuaq, a small town in the west of Greenland. The nine racing teams, prominently staffed with male and female professionals, are once again venturing into new terrain at the Arctic X Prix.

Instead of soft dunes and beach, as in the first two races in Saudi Arabia and Senegal, a mixture of stones, gravel and sand awaits the drivers.

The mixed teams have to complete the eight-kilometer circuit twice each in qualifying, the semifinals and the final.

In Switzerland, the TV channel ProSieben MAXX will broadcast live from Greenland on Sunday, August 29, starting at 3.55 p.m.. The qualifying sessions on Saturday from 1.30 p.m. and from 6 p.m. as well as the semifinals on Sunday at 12 p.m. will be broadcast on ran.de as well as on the YouTube channel  of the Extreme E transferred.

The highlights of the first two races of the Extreme E also lead us to expect spectacle in Greenland.

Giorgio Maggi in national colors
After his not particularly successful but instructive and interesting excursion into the American Nascar series in Indianapolis (he missed the qualification hurdle), Giorgio Maggi is competing again this weekend in the European championship of V8 bolides.

A design in Swiss national colors, already shown in the USA and now refined for Europe, will make an appearance. After the moral damper in the USA, the man from Hergiswil is fully motivated again, especially since Most in the Czech Republic is one of his favorite tracks.

Both races, with starts at 1:35 p.m. on Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday, can be seen on the YouTube channel of the race series can be viewed.

Giorgio Maggi's Ford Mustang now also shines in the Swiss colors in Europe.
