NOCHMALS SPIELBERG Fabio Scherer gets a second chance in the Porsche Supercup at the Formula 1 in Austria. Jenzer Motorsport wants to confirm its podium from France. Red Bull Racing is the team of the hour with engine partner Honda. Just like after the first one, they want to celebrate on Sunday after the second home GP of the team running under the Austrian flag.

At the Styrian GP, world champion Lewis Hamilton and his Mercedes team found themselves thoroughly outplayed by Max Verstappen. At the Red Bull Ring, Red Bull Racing is therefore once again in the role of favorite, although parameters such as the weather and the Pirelli tire compounds, which have been changed for the second Spielberg weekend, may play a role.

Same route, but new challenge
This also gives the Mercedes team boss hope for a turnaround.

Toto Wolff: "Racing on the same track on two consecutive weekends brings opportunities. The different tire compounds present all the teams with a new challenge, and this brings new opportunities in terms of strategy."

Sauber back in the points?
For the Alfa Romeo Racing Team, which operates out of Sauber Motorsport in Hinwil, it also means the chance to make it back into the points for the third time in 2021 after Kimi Räikkönen's eleventh-place finish at the Styria GP and two zeros in a row.

SRF zwei will report live from qualifying on Saturday, July 3, from 2:55 to 4:10 p.m. and from the race on Sunday, July 4, on the same channel. Commentators are Michael Stäuble and Marc Surer.

On June 30, Calan Williams celebrated his 21st birthday. This weekend he wants to give himself a present with the next podium.

Jenzer's second sense of achievement?
Two weeks after rounds 4 to 6 at Le Castellet, FIA Formula 3 is back on the program for the second Austria GP weekend. At the fourth round of the season, Jenzer Motorsport scored its first podium of 2021 with Calan Williams.

After the Australian had finished twelfth in qualifying with the Dallara V6, he was allowed to start the first race from pole position according to the reversed grid rule of the top 12.

Williams was able to hold the top spot for seven laps before dropping two positions. In the second and third races, he finished 8th and 12th. These races can be seen on ORF1 and retrospectively on the YouTube channel of the series.

Motivated Fabienne Wohlwend
The W Series and the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup also start their second Spielberg race within two weekends. Liechtenstein's Fabienne Wohlwend is convinced that she can build on her podium from June 26 (third) in the women's Formula Series thanks to the experience she has gained well.

The Austrian broadcaster ORF1 and the British broadcaster Channel 4 will broadcast live on Saturday, July 3, from 4 p.m. to 5:20 p.m., and the race can also be seen afterwards in a summary on the YouTube channel of the W Series.

Fabio Scherer's second attempt
In the Supercup, Fach Auto Tech made the most of the situation last Sunday, with spearhead Christopher Zöchling improving from twelfth on the grid to seventh.

Hab 8 in Spielberg: Fabio Scherer enters the second Supercup weekend with Fach Auto Tech under better conditions.

Fabio Scherer had to start the race from the very back without training because his Corona values were still too high after the quarantine in Portugal on the previous days.

With 19th place among 29 competitors, he did very well, which means more can be expected for the second Spielberg race. Eurosport and Sky Sport, as well as the streaming service f1tv.formula1.com, will broadcast it live from 12.15 p.m. onwards.

Emil Frey Racing defends its lead in the standings
Emil Frey Racing and its six drivers are keeping their fingers crossed in the GT World Challenge Europe. After the brilliant performance at Zandvoort with a win and a double victory, the next two sprint races at Misano will be about nothing less than defending the lead in the standings.

Thus, the Safenwil-based team leads the overall Sprint standings and the Silver Cup, plus Ricardo Feller in the Sprint Cup drivers' standings and Alex Fontana in the Silver Cup.

Both one-hour races, starting at 3 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday, in the middle of afternoon summer heat on the Adriatic Sea, are on YouTube to be seen. Likewise the two races of the GT2 European Series with participation of Sportec and the duo Christoph Ulrich/Adrian Spescha piloted KTM X-Bow GTX.

A fast-paced look back at Zandvoort, where the three Lamborghini teams from Emil Frey Racing were the weekend's big winners.
