TEAM CHANGE After a one-year break, Frédéric Yerly returns to the Nürburgring. Like Jasmin Preisig, the TCR champion of 2019 will start for Max Kruse Racing on VW Golf. Two years ago, Frédéric Yerly (left) and Mattias Wasel raced and won together. Whether they will also race together in 2021 has not yet been decided.

In a few weeks the new motorsport season will start at the Nürburgring. Max Kruse Racing will start with two new drivers.

Good from experience
Matthias Wasel and Frédéric Yerly will reinforce the team founded by German professional footballer Max Kruse and brand ambassador/VW works driver Benjamin Leuchter in the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS).

Benny Leuchter, team co-owner and driver: "We are very pleased to have Matthias and Frédéric, two experienced NLS drivers, join our team. Both have shown in the past how good they are on the Nordschleife."

You know how to win
Matthias Wasel has already been active in motorsport for around 15 years. His Swiss teammate also looks back on a long and successful motorsport career.

First on the national scene (Renault Clio Speed Trophy 2005 and 2010), then at the Nürburgring. In 2018, the Freiburg native, who is married to Fredy Amweg's daughter, was TMG GT86 champion, most recently overall winner of the TCR class winners' trophy with Wasel in 2019 with a German Cupra team.

The VW GOlf GTI TCR from Max Kruse Racing are among the fastest touring cars at the Nürburgring.

Fresh momentum after compulsory break
Last year, Yerly took a break due to special circumstances. But now he wants to really attack again.

Frédéric Yerly: My goal is to fight with the best. In addition, I want to have as much fun as possible. Both are possible at Max Kruse Racing."

Jasmin Preisig also back on board
As in the previous season, Benny Leuchter, Andy Gülden, Jasmin Preisig from Appenzell and WTCR driver Tom Coronel (NL) will once again start for Max Kruse Racing in addition to the two new drivers. VW Golf GTI TCR cars will be used. Where free choice is allowed, they will roll on racing tires from new team partner Falken.

The team will announce the exact driver pairings - both for NLS, NES 500 and the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring - soon.

Jasmin Preisig is also riding in the German team again. Maybe she will get Yerly as a team partner?
