Maria Grazia Chiuri, creative director of the women's collection at Dior, designed the Vespa 946.
The Italian brand and the Parisian couture house have the same founding year, 1946. Reason enough to think about a joint project.
More than ever, the cooperation between Dior and Vespa allows a reinterpretation of this spirit of "freedom, movements and expressiveness" (quote press release) of the two brands.
Monocoque construction and design
This dialogue gives rise to the Christian Dior Vespa 946, whose distinctive monocoque construction and striking design pay tribute to the heritage of the two houses.
The scooter is a modern interpretation of the iconic Vespa 946, which debuted in Milan in 2012 and has won multiple awards for its elegance, minimalist lines and technological innovation.
Sales launch in spring 2021
In keeping with the design of the saddle, there is a top case patterned with the Dior Oblique motif - created by Marc Bohan in 1967 - that can be attached to the luggage rack. A helmet decorated with the motif completes the range.
The Vespa 946 will be launched in limited edition from spring 2021 in Dior boutiques and subsequently in Motoplex stores of the Piaggio Group. Prices for Switzerland have not yet been set.
