Last weekend, racing engines would have roared again in the Principality of Monaco. For well-known reasons, however, the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique 2020 did not take place.
Postponed until 2022
It would have been the twelfth staging. Like the Le Mans Classic, the historic Grand Prix is only held every two years, two weeks before the weekend of the modern Formula 1 cars. Le Mans has now been postponed to 2021 and Monaco to 2022.
"La Magie du Grand Prix de Monaco Historique"
The Automobile Club de Monaco has produced a beautiful documentary about the magic of its historic event in recent weeks. In "La Magie du Grand Prix de Monaco Historique" there is a lot of action from the racing car fields of the former Formula 1 and Formula 3 to see. Many former GP drivers also have their say about the fascination of this race track and the GP Monaco Historique.
Homage to Sir Stirling Moss
In an interview, Sir Stirling Moss, who died on Easter Sunday 2020, declared the Monaco GP circuit to be the most beautiful of all. In 1956, 60 and 61, the unforgettable Briton took victory there. He considered his first winning car, the Maserati 250F, to be one of the best Formula 1 racing cars ever. Even today - and not only at the Histo-GP in Monaco - the trident is a feast for the eyes and ears at historic races.
