TCR: Stefano Comini wants to defend title

The TCR International Series starts its second season in Bahrain on the first weekend in April. Defending champion Stefano Comini wants to do everything he can to become champion again. After the last race of the TCR in November 2015, Stefano Comini can hardly wait to get back behind the wheel of his Leopard Racing Golf. "Driving is my life, [...].

The Golf Gti TCR will receive 30 kilograms of additional ballast due to the BoP. Further adjustments are expected over the course of the weekend.

"Riding is my life, I can't do without it! All the more I'm happy that it's starting again," said Comini. As reigning champion, the 26-year-old is aware that he will be the hunted. "That's why the support of the fans and those who love me is fundamental for me."

Additional weight for Golf Gti TCR
On Saturday, the Ticino native will have to hold his own against 21 riders. After the positive tests in Magny-Cours and Valencia, Comini also expects to be among the front runners in Bahrain: "My goal is to win, that hasn't changed!" However, with 30 kilograms of additional ballast for the Golf Gti TCR, this will be a challenge due to the Balance of Performance (BoP). The BoP is designed to bring the different race cars in the TCR to the same or at least similar performance level.

The two races of the TCR International Series will be held as part of Formula 1 in Sakhir, Bahrain. The first race can be watched from 6:25 p.m. in the livestream at https://www.tcr-series.com/ as well as race two on Sunday from 13:25 (CET/MET).
