The VW Golf TCR is a 2-liter four-cylinder turbo engine with direct injection: torque 410 Nm, 330 hp. These data not only make the hearts of drivers beat faster. The engine comes from the road version of the Golf R and in the TCR is equipped with both a six-speed DSG transmission and paddle shifters on the steering wheel. As a result, reigning champion Comini can accelerate his Leopard race car from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and reach a top speed of over 250 km/h.
After the first laps in Valencia, a test in Magny-Cours will follow in the next few days before the race car is finally shipped to Bahrain.
"We are delighted to have finally taken delivery of the long-awaited VW Golf TCR. The cars look aggressive and the Leopard Racing livery demonstrates their power. Now we are looking at the first tests before finally heading to Bahrain for the first race," said Claudio Berro, CSO and Team Principal of Leopard Racing.
