Supercup: Alex Fach with two spearheads

THREE NEW DRIVERS Fach Auto Tech is reorganizing for the 2018 Porsche Supercup season. With Jaap van Lagen (NL) and Nick Yelloly (GB), Alex Fach's team has two spearheads. For five years now, the team from Sattel has been one of the most successful teams in the Porsche Supercup. At just their second attempt, the team from Schwyz clinched overall victory in the 2014 championship with Earl Bamber, who triumphed with Porsche at Le Mans a year later.

In each of the past two years, Fach Auto Tech took second place in the prestigious team standings. Alex Fach wants to build on this in the coming racing season with a double spearhead.

Two hot irons in the fire
The one wild card is Jaap van Lagen. The 41-year-old Dutchman won outright with the Swiss team in Monaco in 2015 when he spontaneously replaced Simon Trummer from Berne. Now the GT specialist is contesting a full season with Fach Auto Tech.

The second trump card is Nick Yelloly. The 27-year-old Briton switched to the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland after successes in the Renault World and GP3 Series. The Force India F1 simulator test driver finished the 2017 season in second place.

The third man is Christof Langer. The 51-year-old German will primarily be fighting for top placings in the B classification.

That's how it should be in 2018: Alex Fach cheers on his driver Matt Campbell, who won both final races in Mexico City in October 2017.

Alex Fach: "I'm proud that three very good drivers will be competing for us again in 2018. I'm convinced that with this mix we'll have a powerful team on the grid that can build on our past successes and fight for titles."

The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup will again be held exclusively as part of Formula 1 in 2018. The season will kick off from May 11 to 13 at the Spanish GP in Barcelona.
