Co-owners and operators of Aston Martin St. Gallen in Niederwil are Dr. Andreas Baenziger and Dr. Florian Kamelger. Together they have competed in occasional endurance races on an Aston Martin GT4, most recently in May at the Nürburgring 24 Hours.

In 2015, they founded AF Racing AG, with which they have been the exclusive trading partner of Aston Martin Racing in Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, Italy and the Netherlands since January 2016.

For 2018, the two friends are raising the bar considerably - not as drivers, but as team bosses. With R-Motorsport, the sporting arm of AF Racing and Aston Martin St. Gallen, they are entering the Blancpain GT Endurance Series with two Vantage V12 GT3s. Two Swiss teams have already been doing well there for years with Emil Frey Racing (in 2018 probably with two Lexus RC F instead of Jaguar) and Kessel Racing (Ferrari).

The season's highlight will be the 24 Hours of Spa. The long-term goal is one day to take part in the Le Mans 24 Hours.

With two new Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3, R-Motorsport wants to put itself in the best light in 2018.

The two motorsport enthusiasts have engaged four professionals as drivers. One car will be driven by former Aston Martin works driver Niki Thiim from Denmark and Belgian Maxime Martin from BMW's DTM.

The second Swiss car is shared by the British Alex Brundle and Jake Dennis. Two more drivers will join them - perhaps a Swiss driver will also get a chance?

The Blancpain Endurance Series is the toughest endurance championship for GT3 sports cars. The picture shows the start at Silverstone.

As a partner at the highest level, Aston Martin St. Gallen can count on the race-experienced team Arden Motorsport. "R-Motorsport is to play an important role in racing for gentleman drivers and professionals in the future," says Baenziger, explaining the big step.

His goal is clear: "Next year, we want to have a say in the overall victory in the Blancpain Endurance Series. With the Vantage V12, Arden and strong drivers, we have the best prerequisites for this."
