Actually, the first round of the 2020 ADAC GT Masters, which should have taken place at Oschersleben on the last weekend in April, would already be history. And with it Simona de Silvestro's first two races in a Porsche from KÜS Team Bernhard.
GT experience from an endurance race
The driver from Vaud was one of presenter Patrick Simon's guests on the fifth episode of "PS on Air - Der Ravenol ADAC GT Masters-Talk". She is generating particular interest in Germany because she will be tackling her first season in the ADAC GT Masters and in any European racing series at all sometime this year.
Her experience with GT3 cars is limited to the 2019 Daytona 24 Hours in an all-female team.
Simona de Silvestro: "It's strange to be a rookie again at 31. But I'm really happy. It's also strange because I've never even been able to drive the Porsche. So I can't really think about it yet. I also don't know any tracks. So I'm glad that I can now practice at home on the simulator and then concentrate fully on getting used to everything quickly."
What she says about her time with the Australian V8 Supercars, which she got to know over the past three years, and how she feels about her new teammate Klaus Bachler as well as the team, she also revealed in this interview.

Ricardo Feller is no longer the youngest
All of this year's other rookies also introduced themselves in the 2020 ADAC GT Masters alongside Simona de Silvestro. Since Marius Zug (runner-up in the 2019 ADAC GT4 Germany), who is only 17 years old, will be one of them, it is clear that Ricardo Feller, who will soon be 20 years old from Aargau, will no longer be the youngest in the international German GT3 field after three years.
