Sauber: Last chance for points in 2015

Can the Sauber F1 Team score again at the finale? It would certainly do the team from Hinwil good to score championship points in order to end the winter break on a positive note. The team is highly motivated for the race in Abu Dhabi. "Abu Dhabi is the last race of the season - it's incredible how quickly time has passed.

"Abu Dhabi, the last race this season - it's unbelievable how quickly time has passed," says Marcus Ericsson ahead of the 19th and final round of the 2015 Formula 1 World Championship. "This Grand Prix in the Middle East is always a fascinating event that attracts a lot of fans from many countries."

The race in the desert starts at sunset and leads into the night. Because the course has several straights, engine power plays a decisive role on the one hand. On the other hand, the drivers also have to cope with hairpin turns and slow corners.

There is not much left for the Sauber F1 Team to gain in the overall standings. Eighth place in the constructors' championship is set in stone. And there's not much left to change about the 13th and 18th places of the two drivers in the drivers' standings. Only Marcus Ericsson still has a chance of overtaking Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button with a good result.

Looking ahead to 2016, the Sauber F1 Team announced a new sponsor in the run-up to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: From next season, the television broadcaster CNBC will support the team from Hinwil as a "Premium Partner".
