Tatiana Calderón completed a total of 23 laps of the GP circuit. The 25-year-old Colombian was behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car for the first time in her career.
Lap times were not communicated. However, according to a statement from Alfa Romeo Sauber, she quickly adapted to the challenges. It said she showed her focus and ability and impressed the team with her professionalism and dedication.
As the first South American woman at the wheel of a Formula 1 racing car, Tatiana was naturally also celebrated by the media:
🤩@TataCalde Calderón, espera pueda correr en F1🏎️🌬️#AMaximaVelocidad #GirlPower 💁♀️

For herself, she said, it was an unforgettable day.
Tatiana Calderón: "The acceleration, braking and grip are incredible. After a few laps I got used to the speed and had a lot of fun driving it. It was a dream come true for me. I would like to thank the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team and my sponsors for that. Also for believing in my abilities."
Back to the GP3 car from Jenzer
Tatiana Calderón is the official test driver for Alfa Romeo Sauber in 2018. However, she has so far only followed testing and the action on the GP race tracks from the team's pits.
Four years after Simona de Silvestro, she was the second woman at the wheel of a Formula 1 racing car from Hinwil. What this means for her future is uncertain.
Next up for her is the GP3 finale with Jenzer Motorsport in Abu Dhabi. Andreas Jenzer ("She's currently one of the fastest women in racing") would like to continue with her in the new FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2019.
