Sandro Fehr succeeds in taking revenge

The 4.3 km long course on the army grounds of Chamblon above Yverdon-les-Bains is one of the most demanding in the Swiss slalom calendar. It's no wonder that only the best prevail here, and this was also the case in the Suzuki Grand Prix. Inspired by his first victory in Romont, Bruno Bleiker completed the course in the first run on mostly damp ground on [...]

Sandro Fehr first had a safe run and then turned the tables on the drying track with the clear best time. Bleiker also improved by three seconds, but had to give way to the man from eastern Switzerland. In the class L2 up to 1600 cc this meant ranks 2 and 3 for the two fastest pilots with their weaker Suzuki Swift Sport. Fabian Eggenberger drove in another one make cup and therefore could not start with the Suzuki. After a goal error in the first run, Andreas Saner kept his nerve in the second attempt and drove in a clean way to third place in the internal Suzuki ranking. However, the garage owner's son from Laufental was not yet able to repeat his successes of the previous year. Heiko Leiber, Gilbert Denzer, Andreas Grubert and Rolf Plattner took the next places.

For the first time this year, the drivers from the Swiss Slalom Championship did not have to worry about the choice of tires - on the last Sunday in June it actually remained sunny and dry. Patrick Flammer was able to keep his previous form and bring the Suzuki Swift Evo 2000 to the finish in fourth place in the class E1 up to 2000 cm, although he did not reach his better training time. Before the long summer break until the Slalom Palexpo in Geneva on September 4, the Glarner occupies the 22nd intermediate rank among 270 drivers with points in the Slalom-SM with six results from seven races.
