Large contingent at the end of the season: Kessel Racing brought three Ferrari 488 GT3s to Abu Dhabi and almost reached the maximum with them.

The Gulf 12 Hours of Abu Dhabi marks the traditional end of the season for Kessel Racing. 26 cars from the GT3, GTX and LMP3 classes took part in the last international endurance race of the year.

The Ticino-based team started with three Ferrari 488 GT3s in two classes and decided both in its favor. The trio of Michael Broniszewski (Poland), Davide Rigon (Italy) and Miguel Molina (Portugal) started from pole position. After the first six hours, the three fast Kessel customers were 15 seconds ahead of another Ferrari and 24 seconds ahead of an Aston Martin.

The red Ferrari from Switzerland was at the head of the field from the start in both 6-hour races.

After a two-and-a-half-hour break, they continued their winning drive, winning the half-marathon on the 5.555km GP circuit in the Emirate by 55 seconds. The other two Kessel Ferraris took 1st and 3rd place in the Pro-Am class.

Crowning end to the season: Ronnie Kessel with Miguel Molina (left) and Davide Rigon. Michael Broniszewski was missing from the podium.

Team boss Ronnie Kessel was suitably satisfied.

Ronnie Kessel: "Our long and complex season couldn't have ended more beautifully with our third consecutive triumph in Abu Dhabi. We've won everything there was to win in the Blancpain Series in the Am category and now we've shown here once again what we're capable of. Thanks to all the drivers and my staff. After returning home, they deserve a few quiet holidays before we turn our full focus back to 2018."
