Last year, April 1 fell on Easter Monday. An ideal date for the indoor car race at the Roggwil kart track, which has been held on this special date for years. Thus, many more spectators came on the holiday - as otherwise only on the weekend - than on a normal working day, on which also potential participants with special vehicles would be prevented.
Fun and show on best time
This unusual event will therefore also be held on Easter Monday in 2019. This falls on April 22. As with April Fool's jokes, the focus is on fun - but there is still a bit of seriousness behind it. Because all of the invited participants would like to win this unique competition.
The defending champion is Andreas Helm, who last year set the fastest lap times on the kart track with his "Blue Wild Sow" - the name of his VW Polo G60 (https://www.autosprint.ch/motorsport/schweizer-sport/race-inn-andreas-helm-gewinnt-indoor-rennen).
What the racing brothers Andreas and Michael Helm will compete with on April 22 (at slalom tests in Lahr, Germany, it was the previous Tatuus-Abarth F4 and a TracKing-Suzuki), they do not want to reveal yet...
Open from 10 am to 11 pm
Practice will be on Easter Monday from 10 am. The final runs will take place in the early evening. The event will end at 11 p.m. at the latest. Admission for spectators is free.
