Renault: F1 team fit for the 2020 season

At the team presentation at the Atelier Renault in Paris, Jérôme Stoll, President of Renault Sport Racing, named fourth place in the constructors' championship as the Renault factory team's goal: "2020 marks Renault's sixth consecutive decade in Formula One and is of crucial importance in various respects. We want to build on the positive moments of the first three years after re-entering the premier class, while preparing for the following season. I have full confidence that we will be in the fight for fourth place in the Constructors' World Championship."

In addition to Australian Daniel Ricciardo, who is contesting his second season for the Renault F1 team, the factory team has signed 23-year-old Esteban Ocon as its second driver in 2020. He was already in the team as a reserve driver in 2016. The new test driver is Chinese Guanyu Zhou. The new Renault R.S.20 will have its official roll-out next week during testing in Barcelona. Looking to the near future, Jérôme Stoll said, "Now that we've finished the first design phase, we're very confident that we'll be able to benefit from the new rules from 2021."

Changes to the regulations
Background: Next year, Formula 1 will undergo drastic changes to its regulations. In addition to technically simpler cars, these include a budget cap to bring the teams closer together again.
