Thomas Laudenbach, Head of Porsche Motorsport: "Sustainability and electrification play a major role for Porsche. This is reflected in our motorsport activities - including the use of the Taycan Turbo GT as a safety car. It symbolizes that we are learning in racing for applications in series production."

Turbo GT with Attack Mode

The new Taycan has more power and more range. The Turbo GT has been at the top of the range since March. The Attack Mode with up to 120 kW of additional power for short periods is based on the technology of the Porsche 99X Electric, the current Formula E world champion car.

Design foiling

For the first time, the safety car of the Electric World Championship will be presented in two variants: The Taycan Turbo GT in the exterior color purple metallic performs its duties as the primary vehicle with the Weissach package and therefore without a rear bench seat. The four-seater replacement vehicle in Shadegreen metallic appears without the additional performance. Like the Porsche 99X Electric concept, the Taycan has also been designed to reduce CO2-The vehicles are developed at the Manthey site in Weissach. The Manthey specialists based at the Nürburgring will continue to look after the vehicles and will also be responsible for installing the necessary modifications. These include elements such as the warning lights and the associated electrics, a high-tech communication system and fire extinguishers. The Portuguese driver Bruno Correia remains the pilot of the safety car.
