The start of the sixth season of the FIA Formula E is imminent - and with it the debut of the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer in this top-class electric racing series. The two Porsche 99X electric cars will be driven by Swiss driver Neel Jani and German driver André Lotterer.

No substitute for a real test day
In several short video clips, Jani talks about the preparations for the first two races on November 22 and 23, 2019 in Saudi Arabia.

The first episode is about the importance of simulator tests in preparation.

Neel Jani: "Training sessions in the simulator have increased enormously in Formula E. The simulations are already very good, as the tracks are scanned with every bump. However, it is of course no substitute for a real test day on a race track. You can't simulate temperature or other weather-related track conditions, for example."

Neel Jani's career with Porsche shown graphically. He won Le Mans and the Endurance World Championship with the works team in 2016.
