This is a functional model, which also gained fame in motorsport under the name "Fuhrmann engine". The kit, consisting of 300 individual parts, was constructed by the English developer John Anson on the basis of original drawings from the Porsche archive and was thus able to realize it true to detail.
LEDs provide the representation of the ignition sparks
The individual parts made of sturdy plastic can be easily plugged and screwed together during assembly, without any gluing. The components are movable to a large extent: crankshaft, pistons, valves and the heart of the engine - the propeller shafts - can be viewed through the transparent housing in true-to-life interaction. A special effect is provided by the display of the ignition sparks in the cylinders, which are simulated by LEDs.
Background information on motorsport
The enclosed manual in German and English guides the model builder through assembly. It also provides background information on the beginnings of racing at the sports car manufacturer from Zuffenhausen. The 112 pages also include a number of historical photos, drawings and posters.
