Reasons for the decision were not really given. "Competitive pressure has made the headwinds for the brand increasingly strong", Polaris headquarters in Minneapolis USA announced. As the Swiss importer of Victory and Indian, Stefan Vogel from Simota AG, explained on request, the consequences for the Swiss market, dealers and prices are not yet foreseeable at this time. "The decision also came as a surprise to us, but we will definitely be exhibiting Victory Motorcycles at Swiss-Moto, especially as we still have open orders and new bikes in stock." According to the press release, Polaris assures that Victory spare parts will be available for at least ten years.
So if you still want a Victory, you would be well advised to get one now. On January 24, Polaris will inform its shareholders about the decision and further details in an online video conference.
