Oberhallau: Neel Jani on the grid with e-fuel

SUSTAINABLE Switzerland's only hillclimb race in Oberhallau on August 28 and 29, 2021, has one more attraction. The already renowned starting field includes Neel Jani and Horag Racing with an LMP3 sports car. Oberhallau Neel Jani
The 37-year-old Porsche works driver Neel Jani won the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2016.

Neel Jani's start is as unique as his vehicle at a hill climb: He is driving a Ligier LMP3 (Le Mans prototype) in a new, separate category. This is a pilot test by Horag Racing in which the race cars run not on gasoline derived from petroleum but on artificial fuel produced in the laboratory using renewable energies (water, wind, solar).

Alternative to fossil fuels
Benjamin Hotz of Horag Racing will pilot a Ligier JS P4 also powered by e-fuel and entered by his company.

These so-called e-fuels are CO2-neutral and could be an environmentally friendly alternative to classic fossil fuels in the future - not only in motorsports, but also for normal cars, classic vehicles, and in shipping and aviation.

Workshops in barns and garages
As has been the case for decades, Oberhallau will once again be transformed into a large paddock this weekend. Barns, garages, forecourts and cow pastures will be converted into an oversized workshop at record speed.

Every niche in the village, no matter how small, is included in the racing action. Around 200 entries from Switzerland and neighboring countries have been received by the pro Bergrennen Oberhallau club.

Ticket sales are only available via the website
Due to federal and cantonal Covid19 regulations, spectators are expected to be allowed. However, only persons who are fully vaccinated or recovered from Covid-19 or have a negative test result are allowed on the event site itself.

Therefore, spectator tickets can only be purchased through advance sales. Ticket sales on site are not possible. More information will be available from mid-August on the website
