In its first season in 2018/19, Nissan took over from alliance partner Renault in the FIA Formula E. Sébastien Buemi ended it with a victory at the finale in New York and the runner-up title. The electric racing cars appeared in silver and black, then only in black during the official test drives last week.
Design as a lucky charm for Buemi
In the sixth season starting on November 23 and 24, Sébastien Buemi and Oliver Rowland will appear in the Nissan Racing house colors black, red and white. The Japanese designers took their inspiration for the pattern from a kimono. The traditional garment symbolizes longevity and good fortune.
The presentation took place on Tuesday in Yokohama. According to Nissan's Head of Design, Alfonso Abaisa, the aim is to commemorate both the Japanese cultural heritage and the brand's dynamic DNA.
Around 40 designers from various Nissan departments and world markets submitted their concepts.
