Motorsport: Second victory for Bruno Bleiker

At the ACS Zurich slalom on the Anneau du Rhin, Bruno Bleiker was able to celebrate his second win of the season in the Suzuki Grand Prix 2016. Except for Sandro Fehr, all the top guys were there. Suzuki podium on the Anneau du Rhin (from left): Andreas Saner (2nd), Bruno Bleiker (1st) and Fabian Eggenberger (3rd).

Bruno Bleiker seemed to have kept his strong form over the summer break. After being absent in Romont and Chamblon, where he competed in a different class, three-time season winner Fabian Eggenberger was back in Alsace. On the other hand, Chamblon winner Sandro Fehr was absent, having chosen to participate in the Slalom Palexpo in Geneva, where he was without competition.

Already in the first race run Bruno Bleiker set a best time in 2:10.27, which only he again clearly beat in the second run with 2:09.26. Although the stopwatch showed 2:09.85 for Fabian Eggenberger, he had touched two of the 32 gates on the 3.3 km course and received 20 penalty seconds for this. The first running time was still enough for third place.

Best season result for Andreas Saner and Daniel Schneider
With two clean runs just one hundredth of a second apart, Andreas Saner thus secured second place ahead of Fabian Eggenberger. After Andreas Saner had fumbled with his tire choice in most of the previous races, this meant only the second podium finish in the current season for the Laufentaler who is used to winning. Newcomer Daniel Schneider also achieved his best result to date with 4th place, leaving the veterans Gilbert Denzer, Heiko Leiber and Rolf Plattner behind him.
