Invited fans of Rahel Frey and loyal customers of her parents' Thal Garage in Aedermannsdorf were the first to find out: The woman from Solothurn will once again take the wheel of various racing cars for Audi in the upcoming season and remain brand ambassador for the brand with the four rings. On the sidelines of a customer event, the factory driver talked about the life of a racing professional. Last year, she spent 199 days as a race driver, instructor and representative at various PR events for Audi and, to her own delight, not much will change in this rich program. In the ADAC GT Masters, she will take turns at the wheel of a new Audi R8 LMS with German Philip Geipel, trying to build on her triumph at the 2015 finale at Hockenheim. "This year, however, this will be even more difficult because the competition will be stronger than before. In addition, for budget reasons we can hardly test before the start of the season," she says, dampening overly high expectations.

Motivated for third season in the Asian Audi R8 LMS Cup
Rahel Frey expects a lot from her third season in the Asian Audi R8 LMS Cup where she doesn't have to share the car. Rahel Frey: "For a driver, this is a huge advantage because you do all the set-up work and race preparation just for yourself. For that, you can't afford to make any mistakes."

Last year, Rahel Frey battled it out with the best Asians for the title, winning a race in Korea, but due to a scheduling clash with the GT Masters she had to skip three rounds. "According to the current calendar of the two championships, this will not be the case this year," explains the racing lady, who turned 30 on February 23.

And how do you feel now that you're 30? "Exactly the same as before. I don't feel that old yet. Plus, I get to experience so much right now, so this is a cool age after all."
