Toyota Swiss Racing: "They really put in a good, flawless performance," sums up team boss Roland Baumann.

The number of participants in the TMG86 Cup organized by Toyota Motorsport may have shrunk, but that hasn't made winning much easier. Therefore, the joy of the Toyota Swiss Racing team was justified after the triumph of Manuel Amweg and Thomas Lampert. Several times the lead changed between Amweg and his Belgian rival during the first eight laps. It was only towards the end of the second round of the 2016 VLN that the Toyota in the Swiss national colors was able to pull away somewhat, confirming the team's first victory of October 2015.

"They really put in a good, flawless performance," said team boss Roland Baumann in praise of his drivers. "As a team, too, we made a smart tactical decision when we continued on slicks during a brief downpour, thus saving time. Because the track soon dried up again. Now we're even more annoyed that we only finished last at the first VLN round due to a strange sensor defect and lost valuable points as a result." The planned start with the Lexus GT3 of Lorenz Frey and Stéphane Ortelli from the Safenwil team fell through after a training accident.

A Ticino fights for the championship title
Best Swiss overall was Alexandre Imperatori in tenth place in the Falken Porsche 991 GT3 R. For the second time in the still young season, Ivan Jacoma came to victory in the V6 class with the German Claudius Karch in the Porsche Cayman S. This puts the fast director of Porsche Centro Ticino in the VLN championship of all categories and drivers in position 13 of 458 classified and 6th of all teams. Table leaders are Frank Stippler (D) and Anders Fjordbach (N), who repeated the overall victory from the opening race with the Audi R8 LMS entered by Phoenix Racing from the top class SP9 with the highest number of participants.
