Even though the TMG GT86 Cup only consisted of four teams this time - you have to beat three if you want to win. Manuel Amweg and Thomas Lampert did this in impressive fashion. Starting from pole position, the driver from Aargau and the driver from Liechtenstein led the four-hour race in the GT86 of the Toyota Swiss Racing Team. With their fourth win of the season in the eighth race on the Nordschleife, they extended their lead in the championship.
One of their two closest rivals in the standings retired, while the other finished five laps behind in second place after an electrical problem. "I'm glad that our drivers were not involved in any incidents in this turbulent race and kept their concentration to drive home the victory that was on the cards," said team boss Roland Baumann with satisfaction.

Strong Swiss in the Opel Astra OPC Cup
The Swiss drivers competing in the Astra OPC Cup had slightly more competition, spread across three Opels from Lubner Motorsport. With a German and an Austrian as partners, Daniel Hadorn celebrated his second win of the season, one minute ahead of the family team of Volker, Robin and Lena Strycek and two minutes ahead of the second Lubner Opel driven by Edi Kamm from Glarus. Sandro Rothenberger and Ruedi Rhyn, who won the sixth race in August, finished fifth.
Michael Kroll and Roland Eggimann brought the BMW M3 GTR from Hofor Racing with Bernd Küpper (D) to the finish line first in the SP6 class. Meanwhile, Martin Kroll won the SP4 class single-handedly with two Germans. Sabine and Fred Yerly achieved a respectable result with their Renault Clio RS in second place ahead of four other brand colleagues in the SP3 class and Willy Hüppi in third place among a dozen competitors in the Cup3 class of the Porsche Cayman GT4.
