Motorsport: Slalom for everyone in Frauenfeld
Anyone who feels like taking part in a real car race with their own vehicle without any pressure will soon have the opportunity to do so. As part of its 17th Auto Race Days on April 23 and 24 at the Frauenfeld Allmend, the ACS Thurgau Section is inviting entries for a "taster category". The basic requirement for participation is that one must be in possession of a valid driving license [...]
The basic requirement for participation is that you have a valid driving license (Cat. B) and have never competed in a car race before. The race will take place on the original course with a length of about 3.2 kilometers and 49 gates, on which the best slalom racers in Switzerland will compete on Sunday in front of thousands of spectators for the second championship race in 2016. So every beginner gets a nice comparison of how fast you can waggle around the pylons with real racing cars. The entry fee is only 155 instead of 255 francs, which already includes the day license to be purchased on site. The event will be rounded off with an award ceremony just like the big ones.
Two race runs are part of the start in Frauenfeld
Only firmly registered vehicles are admitted, which correspond in all points to the StVO. After the technical inspection, one inspection run, two training runs and two race runs may be completed. The fastest time will be scored. To meet the minimum safety requirements, long pants and long-sleeved shirts as well as closed shoes are mandatory. It is also compulsory to wear a racing helmet with a valid standard, which can be rented for 50 francs. As the number of participants is limited, it is advisable to register quickly by March 24 at the latest.
