Motorsport: Marcel Muzzarelli is half-time champion

With his third victory in the fifth race, Marcel Muzzarelli maintains his lead at the top of the OPC Challenge standings. But Thierry Kilchenmann is hot on his heels. Flammer has taken the lead among the teams. Two victories within a week and beating a total of 77 opponents in the process - that's what Marcel Muzzarelli has achieved. The Thurgau-based [...]

Podium in Romont with the two title favorites: Denis Genton (3rd), Marcel Muzzarelli (1st) and Thierry Kilchenmann (2nd).

Two victories within a week and beating a total of 77 opponents - Marcel Muzzarelli has achieved this. The man from Graubünden, who has emigrated to Thurgau, drove the Opel Corsa OPC from Garage Metropol in Amriswil to victory on the difficult course in Bure and on the Romont armory. In the first race, he was only able to distance himself from his arch-rival Thierry Kilchenmann by 15 hundredths and Denis Genton by 0.17 seconds. Marcel Muzzarelli was allowed to start much earlier than his two rivals due to his low starting number. For this reason, he was able to improve by nine tenths before light rain set in, making conditions more difficult for those behind him. As a result, Thierry Kilchenmann and Denis Genton were unable to improve any further. As a result, the two title contenders will travel to Chamblon above Yverdon-les-Bains for the first race of the second half of the season the weekend after next with a difference of just two points. Frauenfeld winner Fabio Gubitosi moved up to third place, a respectful distance from the top.

Garage Flammer is leading the Team Cup: After the preparatory work of Christian Zimmermann, Sandro Fehr's second place in Bure and Fabian Eggenberger's fourth place in Romont brought the Glarn team the lead in the standings.

Flammer Speed Team at the top of the Team Cup
There was a change of leadership in the Team Cup, in which Marcel Muzzarelli is not taking part as Metropol boss Christian Mettler is the series coordinator. With three top results from Thierry Kilchenmann, the Belwag Racing Team from Bern had shot its powder after Bure, especially as Daniel Kammer was also no longer available. The Flammer Speed Team from Glarus took over the lead with fourth place from returnee Fabian Eggenberger, after Sandro Fehr had done excellent groundwork in the Jura by finishing second. After Genton's third place in Romont, Guex Motorsport is now the best team from Switzerland ahead of Auto Bollhalder from Wattwil, which celebrated a fine third place in Saanen with Edy Kobelt.
