Motorsport: Kevin Lüdi took overall victory

What takes a long time finally brings points and the hoped-for places on the podium. Kevin Lüdi, who has been karting nationally and internationally for many years, has made it to the top through perseverance and convincing performances. In the Rotax Max Euro Challenge, he finished the season as overall winner in Salbris, France. Joy reigns (from left): [...]

Joy reigns (from left): Hansjürg Lüdi (father and owner Spirit Karting), Arnaud Briffa (mechanic), Ken Allemann (managing director) and
Gaeton Chopard (workshop manager).

This was preceded by races in Genk, Belgium, Casteletto, Italy, Zuera, Spain, and finally the final in France, where exciting races were held in summery conditions. Kevin Lüdi: "It was damn hot, but that didn't bother me. I did everything I could to keep my winning streak going." In the DD2 class field, where the title had not yet been decided, Kevin Lüdi prevailed in the Prefinal, thus also winning the title early.

In all runs always in front in the points
The results at a glance showed that Kevin Lüdi was always to be reckoned with in all the races: Victory in Belgium, second in Italy and Spain respectively, and then the crowning glory in France. Kevin Lüdi, who at the age of 26 is already an old hand in karting, takes a rather sober view of things: "My experience over the last few years at Spirit Karting, where up to 30 drivers are looked after depending on the season, has helped me a lot. My nerves didn't flutter in the final either. I wanted the win and I got it. That makes you satisfied."

Done: Kevin Lüdi rolls across the finish line at the final of the Rotax Max Euro Challenge in Salbris with his kart Rotax 125 Max-DD2 Evo 2015 as the clear overall winner.

Rotax World Final in Sarnos is the highlight
And what's next for Kevin Lüdi, who knows how to handle the 32.6 hp of his kart, model Rotax 125 Max-DD2 Evo 2015? Kevin Lüdi: "Even though the Euro Challenge 2016 is now over, the Rotax Max International Open is coming up in Italy from October 5 to 9, 2016, and at the highlight of the season, the Rotax World Final in Sarno from October 15 to 22, I'd also like to be right at the front." So no dreams of moving to another class? Kevin Lüdi: "I tried it once with a formula car. It wasn't really my thing. Then it's more touring cars. The Audi Sport TT Cup would interest me. For now, though, it's about getting the season off to a clean start."
