Edoardo Mortara already celebrated his second victory of the season on Saturday at the Nuremberg street circuit, which the Germans call the "Monaco of the DTM. However, the Geneva native is considered Italian, which will remain so despite his upcoming Swiss passport because Audi Sport will hardly change his nationality as a sportsman. Edoard Mortara took over the top spot in the standings for one night, as he did at the beginning of the season at Hockenheim, which is now held by the hard-working BMW driver Marco Wittmann until the next race at Zandvoort (July 16 and 17).

An absolutely perfect day for Nico Müller
With his pole position at Hockenheim on May 7, Nico Müller showed that the internal Audi team change from Rosberg to Abt was the right decision and that he has what it takes to be a winning driver. On Sunday, the driver from Berne provided the best proof of this. Starting third, he took over second place in the first corner. His team then chose the perfect strategy with a late-timed tire stop, which Müller turned into his first DTM triumph. In the championship, Nico Müller now occupies seventh place after the eighth of 18 races.
