Motorsport: Specialist team desperate for the triple
With Matteo Cairoli's victories in the first two races in Spain and Monaco, Fach Auto Tech got off to a flying start in the 2016 Porsche Supercup. It doesn't get any better than that. In mid-May, the new man in Alex Fach's Porsche team made a fitting debut by winning the first Supercup race of the 2016 season from pole position. Two weeks later, in difficult conditions in Monaco, it became clear that the official factory junior had invested the Porsche sponsorship money well in the Schwyz team: In the rain, Matteo Cairoli again left all opponents behind and so he comes to Spielberg as the leader of the standings for the third round.
Different expectations from Alex Fach
In preparation for the third championship round, Matteo Cairoli, supported by Fach, contested two rounds of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland at the same venue on May 21 and 22. Although this resulted in a second and a fifth place, both now know where to put the lever for the coming weekend. Alex Fach: "We are in very good spirits. Matteo can do the triple, but we'd also be very happy with a podium or top-five result."
A must for Philipp Frommenwiller Top Ten
The man from Schwyz expects an upward trend from his second pilot Philipp Frommenwiller. "For Philipp, the top 10 is a must, but a place in the top five is also certainly possible for him," says the team boss. How the team, supported by AutoSprintCH as media partner, performs in Austria can be followed live on TV on Eurosport and Sky Sport 1 or on the Internet at racecam.de.
