There is a good chance that Fach Auto Tech will be able to celebrate its second victory of the season in the Porsche Supercup in Monaco on Sunday: Matteo Cairoli is on pole position with the 991 GT3 Cup of the team from Schwyz! Strong duo: Alex Fach and Matteo Cairoli are now hoping to secure their second win of the season on Sunday and extend their lead in the standings.

It doesn't get any better than this: Matteo Cairoli created the best starting position for the second round of the Mobil 1 Supercup in Monaco by setting the fastest time in the half-hour qualifying session on Friday morning. Two weeks ago, the official works junior from Italy won the season opener at the Spanish GP in Barcelona in the same way.

"A sensational performance," enthuses Team Principal Alex Fach. "We are over the moon to be on pole again in Monaco, after we already achieved this last year with Jaap van Lagen." The Dutchman turned the optimal starting position into a victory - the same can now be expected from Matteo Cairoli. "It really just depends on the start. Everyone in this field is so hardened that nothing normally happens afterwards," hopes Alex Fach.

Hope: Philipp Frommenwiler was unlucky in qualifying. Now the driver from Thurgau is banking on a race with a points finish.

Four Swiss riders fight for every second
Philipp Frommenwiler had less luck with his qualifying. On his fastest practice lap, he was slowed down by his team-mate of all people, who had a crash after setting the fastest time. On his second attempt, the man from Thurgau also made contact with the crash barrier, but both cars can be repaired without any problems until Sunday. Philipp Frommenwiler finished twelfth, making him the third-fastest Swiss driver in the 27-car field behind Jeffrey Schmidt (7th) and ahead of Egidio Perfetti (16th).

The race starts on Sunday at 9:45 am. Sky will be broadcasting live on TV, and fans can also listen to a web radio at www.racecam.de.
