Thanks to the recent work on the track, especially its surface, safety has been improved for the riders. This enables the return of the autobuild Swiss Kart Championship (SKM) in the canton of Aargau. There are still treacherous spots and bumps, but the kart racers have to know how to deal with them.

As no races are permitted on Sundays out of consideration for local residents, the entire racing program will take place on Saturday, 29 April. So you will never see more kart racing in one day all year round. Especially as the paddock is freely accessible to visitors and the entire race track is clearly visible.

Spectator-friendly: Visitors will not get to see more kart racing in one day. The five SKM classes will hold a total of 15 races on Saturday from 10.30 am!

Each of the five championship classes - KZ2 Shift Karts, OK Senior, Iame X30 Challenge Switzerland, Iame X30 Junior and Supermini - will hold one official practice session, one qualifying session and three races. All final races will also be broadcast online via livestream with commentary (see link below).

The first favorites crystallize
The season started at the beginning of April near Pavia in Italy. In the top class KZ2, last year's champion Loic Vindice was already back at the top of the championship, while Samuel Weibel set the tone in the up-and-coming OK class. As a reminder, former GP2 champion Fabio Leimer celebrated a victorious return in this class in 2016.

First race of the season in KZ2: Loic Vindice ahead of André Reinhard.

Patrick Näscher underlined his title ambitions with three race wins in the X30 Challenge Switzerland. In the X30 Juniors, defending champion Savio Moccia was beaten by the equally fast Mike Müller. Elia Sperandio was the measure of all things in the youngest category.
