Motorsport: The 17th championship title for Jenzer

Winning a championship is the crowning glory for any team. After a five-year dry spell, Argentinian Marcos Siebert brought the Jenzer Motorsport team from Lyss overall victory in the Italian Formula 4 championship. Viva Argentina: Jenzer junior Marcos Siebert flew back to his home country this week with the championship title in his luggage.

The FIA Formula 4 has become a household name in Europe at the latest since the hype surrounding Mick Schumacher. The hype surrounding the son of the record-breaking world champion is both a curse and a blessing, as he attracts a lot of attention. The only way to benefit from this is to put yourself in the limelight alongside the Swiss driver from Gland.

In Italy, Marcos Siebert achieved this with a Tatuus-Abarth F4 from Jenzer Motorsport. Together with Mick Schumacher, the Argentinian made up the Italian F4 championship, which had a similarly strong international field to the German series. In the battle for victories and podium places, each beat the other several times, leading to a showdown between the two protagonists in Monza. In contrast to Schumi Junior, Marcos Siebert was only able to take home second place in one of the three races. However, the points lead was enough to secure the championship. "Marcos was unlucky that he was cleared in the last race. But in the end, the only thing that counts is the title," says a delighted Andreas Jenzer.

Tough junior school: Siebert led the championship from the second event ahead of Mick Schumacher in a Formula Abarth from Jenzer Motorsport.

This is the 17th championship win for the most successful Swiss team of the past 25 years since 1993. The last time two Swiss drivers won the crown with Andreas Jenzer was in the 2011 season: Patric Niederhauser in Formula Abarth in Italy and the then 14-year-old Mathéo Tuscher in Formula Pilota China, both with the predecessor models of today's Formula 4. "It's about time it worked out again," says Andreas Jenzer, breathing a sigh of relief.

Two GP3 races are still to come at the end of November as part of Formula 1 in Abu Dhabi. The team no longer has any chance of winning the title, but perhaps a race win or the third podium for a Jenzer Junior in the racing season that is coming to an end will still be possible. Let's keep our fingers crossed for him and Sauber there.
