Motorsport: Bruno Bader is third in the European Championship
At the Eurofinals in the British drag racing mecca of Santa Pod, the spectators were delighted with the appearance of Jndia Erbacher, just like in Hockenheim. But from a Swiss perspective, Bruno Bader was the outstanding driver. In the FIA Pro Modifieds class, with 17 touring cars with up to 3000 hp, Bruno Bader was the [...]

In the FIA Pro Modifieds class, with 17 touring cars with up to 3000 hp, Bruno Bader was aiming for a medal in the European Championship. As the winner of the season opener at the same venue, the Zurich resident from Müllheim TG thought he had a good chance of winning again with his Golden Vette. Unfortunately, the good pistons in his 8.6-liter supercharged V8 engine broke in the middle of the season. With slightly less power, Bader made it back to the semi-finals in Santa Pod, but was narrowly defeated by European champion Micke Gullqvist from Sweden.
Mats Eriksson scored a few more points by losing to compatriot Gullgvist in the final, which Bruno Bader ultimately lacked to finish second in the European Championships. "I'm still satisfied, because we put in the least effort of all the top teams. If all the finals in Finland, where Gullqvist retired early, hadn't fallen victim to the rain, it could even have been enough for me to win the European title."

Another good performance by Jndia Erbacher, European Championship title goes to a Finn
Jndia Erbacher attracted a lot of attention at the NitrOlympX in Hockenheim (see the latest AutoSprintCH from September). It was no different at the dragster final in England, where the daughter of the six-time European champion once again competed in the Top Methanol Dragsters. Despite setting the second-fastest time ever, she was unfortunately eliminated in the first elimination round, but can once again be proud of her performance.
Papa Urs suffered the same fate in his first round in the premier class of top fuel dragsters with up to 10,000 hp. Despite being eliminated in the semi-finals, Finland's Anita Mäkelä took the European Championship title, as last year's champion and later winner of the day Micke Kagerad also defeated her last remaining championship rival Stig Neergard in the semi-finals.
