Dream job as a racing driver: Moritz Müller-Crepon will be driving for the Van Amersfoort Racing team next season.

25 guests were invited to the César Ritz Colleges in Lucerne. In an exclusive but relaxed atmosphere, Moritz Müller-Crepon reported on the dream job of being a racing driver. And it quickly became clear: It's not as easy as it sometimes looks on TV. Müller-Crepon also learned that it takes a lot of patience and hard work. "It's particularly important to find a rhythm," he explained. The F4 driver described his typical working day away from the track: "I get up at 8:00, then it's off to practice. At 10:00, it's simulator work before lunch. In the afternoon, data analysis is on the agenda, as well as preparation for the new season or the upcoming race."

The 19-year-old is competing for Van Amersfoort Racing in ADAC Formula 4 in 2016 and only recently moved to the team in the Netherlands. "With the team, I have found a good platform for learning. There is a familiar, pleasant atmosphere and that is also reflected in my test results," said Müller-Crepon.

"It Takes Many To Achieve One Goal"
There has been a similar amount of work at Van Amersfoort Racing in recent weeks: With the help of the new shareholder, the 2200-square-meter VAR headquarters in Zeewolde was recently built, where 40 employees are now working on the Formula 3 and Formula 4 projects. In Formula 4, a total of 15 employees work on one car. The team uses a total of three race cars. In addition, there is the Müller-Crepon team, consisting of manager Marlise Lienhard and his press spokeswoman. They keep his back free so that he can concentrate on the essentials.

At the end, the guests had the chance to test their own talent in a racing car in Müller-Crepon's self-built simulator. By now, at the latest, those present understood: You can't get by on your own! Starting with the adjustment of the seat, over the own ignorance of the track up to the explanation of the steering wheel. But this is only a small part of the whole. So it really does take many people to make the dream job of being a racing driver a reality.
