The video in English and historical scenes explains what the Macau GP is all about and why it is unique in terms of its importance and fascination.

For the first time, the 66th Macau Grand Prix will be contested with the 380-hp Dallara V6 race cars from the 2019 FIA Formula 3 European Championship. The 6.1-kilometer street circuit has never been lapped so quickly in more than six decades. In qualifying, the fastest cars reached speeds of over 280 km/h on the Lisboa straight and easily shattered the existing lap record.

From Jo Zeller Racing to Jenzer Motorsport
In the former Formula 3 with naturally aspirated two-liter engines, Jo Zeller Racing held the Swiss flag high for years. In 2019, Jenzer Motorsport from Lyss will do so for the first time, fielding three race cars. Jenzer's former GP3 driver Arjun Maini from India, who now races in FIA Formula 2, returns to the Swiss team for this prestigious race. In return, the Bernese will have to do without Yuki Tsunoda, who scored a victory in 2019 and will be driving for another team in Macau.

Maini's experience in Macau from 2015 and 2016 already paid off in qualifying. Thanks to the eighth-best time, he will start from the fourth row on Saturday for the qualifying race, which will determine the grid positions for Sunday's Grand Prix. Since there are always incidents with yellow phases and race interruptions, anything is possible for Jenzer Motorsport with him. The other two Jenzer drivers will start from far back.

Mortara aims for seventh victory
As for Formula 3, Sunday's main race for the GT3 sports cars is synonymous with the FIA World Cup. Switzerland is represented here by three drivers.

As he has done since the early days of his motor racing career, Raffaele Marciello starts under the Italian flag. "Lele" is on pole position for the qualifying race in his Mercedes-AMG GT3. Brand colleague Edoardo Mortara will tackle Saturday's qualifying race from sixth position and Alexandre Imperatori with a Porsche from ninth. Mortara has already won six times in Macau in Formula 3 and GT3.

All races in livestream
There is no Swiss participation in the FIA WTCR and the other categories. All practice sessions and races can be followed on the Internet on the homepage or Facebook page of the organizer in excellent quality in livestream and also later on Youtube (under "macau grand prix 2019"). The GP homepage also shows the exact schedule (CET = minus 7 hours). The 66th Macau Grand Prix will close on Sunday after our winter time from 8.30 to 9.30 a.m. - so best entertainment for your morning coffee...
