Louis Delétraz: With mask on the podium 🎥

THE SWISS IN SPIELBERG In the Formula 1 frame races in Austria, only Louis Delétraz in Formula 2 had reason to cheer. The drivers from Jenzer Motorsport and Fach Auto Tech came away empty-handed in their racing series. Louis Delétraz started his fourth full season in FIA Formula 2 with a seventh-place finish on Saturday in the main race over 40 laps with a mandatory pit stop for tire changes. On the one hand, this resulted in a nice six points, and on the other, according to the regulations, it meant second place on the grid for Sunday's race.

Waiting for the first victory
The driver from Geneva was able to follow the Brazilian Felipe Drugovich, who had started from pole position, in his Dallara with over 600 hp, but never came within striking distance. In the course of the 42 minutes, there were no fewer than four caution phases, which repeatedly brought the field together and slowed it down.

For Delétraz, it's the sixth podium in his Formula 2 career. What he still needs is a win. With 18 championship points, the Frenchman is in fifth intermediate place.

Jenzer juniors in the learning phase
In FIA Formula 3, the three juniors from Jenzer Motorsport saw the chequered flag in both sprint races, thus achieving their primary objective. Only those who drive a lot, and not only during testing, can learn.

Not entirely unexpectedly, however, the rookies from the team in Lyss remained relatively far behind the points in the fiercely contested 30-strong field. Federico Malvestiti (I) was the best Jenzer junior in 19th place in the first race, Calan Williams (AUS) in P17 in the second.

Mixed feelings with Alex Fach
In the Porsche Supercup, Jaap van Lagen, spearheading Fach Auto Tech, retired after just a few minutes. Starting from 12th place, the Dutchman was in the top 10 within two laps before he had to park the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup from Sattel with a puncture.

The second specialist driver Jordan Love made his debut in this one-make cup, and it was also the first race on European soil for the 20-year-old Australian. With a good start, Love immediately made up four positions and crossed the finish line in twelfth place after 26 minutes.

The team manager's conclusion is therefore mixed.

Alex Fach: "Even though the preparations for this race weekend weren't easy, we clearly wanted to finish further ahead. The fact that Jaap retired through no fault of his own after just a few laps was really bitter. Jordan put in a good performance in his very first race. From 18th on the grid, he had to do a lot of catching up."

Victory for new Porsche junior
The first winner of the season was Jaxon Evans, last year's pupil of Alex Fach. The New Zealander, who has been promoted to official Porsche Junior, will be driving for BWT Lechner Racing in 2020. Pole setter Evans led the field from the start over the entire 17-lap distance.

All these racing series within the framework of Formula 1 will also hold their next rounds next weekend, once again at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg.
