The highlights of the last race in Russia, which was stopped and not restarted after a devastating accident - fortunately without any casualties.

Louis Delétraz has already led several races, but he has never managed to win in the second-highest formula class. Yet in his fourth Formula 2 season, the 23-year-old from Geneva is one of only two drivers who have finished all the races this year - 20 in ten weekends so far - on the same lap as the race winner, three of them on the podium.

He would be the twelfth runner-up in 2020
Eleven different people have already won at least one race in 2020. Most recently Guanyu Zhou, whose name is probably only known to insiders. His victory in the sprint race in Sochi, which he was leading at the time of the abandonment, was the first ever by a Chinese in Formula 2.

Of the top 11 in the championship, which Mick Schumacher leads with 191 points ahead of Callum Ilott (169) and super rookie Yuki Tsunoda (147), all except Louis Delétraz have won once or twice. It goes without saying that this upsets him.

But he doesn't want to get carried away. He is tackling what will probably be the last Formula 2 races of his career with the same determination as before - it comes as it comes.

Only mathematical chances of winning the title
Currently seventh in the championship, the son of former GP occasional driver Jean-Denis Delétraz still has theoretical chances of winning the title, as there are still 96 points up for grabs and he is 69 points behind Schumi Jr. However, the only Swiss in Formula 2 remains realistic.

Louis Delétraz: "It's always a good sign when you can tackle the last races with this outlook. With my points deficit, that won't be easy. But I'll leave no stone unturned to shine and then see where I end up."

For two more weekends in Bahrain, the Geneva native will throw himself into Formula 2 overalls. After that, he sees his future in endurance racing or GT racing.

Two entries with Porsche GT3
Unlike some Formula 2 colleagues, Delétraz was able to bridge the two-month break in Formula 2 with other racing commitments. With a Porsche 911 GT3 R from GPX Racing, he took part in the last two endurance races for the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, the 24 Hours of Spa (11th overall) and 1000 Kilometers Paul Ricard (retirement with TD).

Louis Delétraz: "These two stints really suited me to stay sharp and pilot a different type of car. At Spa I was at the wheel for almost eight hours, and at Le Castellet we retired with a defect after I'd driven ten laps. So I feel ready to push again in Formula 2 now. These should be my last races and I don't want to have any regrets."

The experience in GT racing has done Delétraz good. Unfortunately, it is not yet reflected in top results.
