This year, the Coupé will compete for the first time in the 24-hour race on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife (May 12-13, 2018). The Coupé has been specifically modified for the upcoming event in the Eifel: In addition to adapting it to the applicable race specifications, the engineers and mechanics have installed numerous technologies still in the development stage that could be used in future production vehicles as well as sports cars.
Probation for young talents
The steering wheel of the Lexus LC is shared by four drivers. Takeshi Tsuchiya, as the main driver, will be supported in the 24-hour race by the up-and-coming talents Takamitsu Matsui, Naoya Gamo and Yuichi Nakayama. Takeshi Tsuchiya: "The race car we are developing, the Lexus LC, is still in its infancy and is just taking its first steps. It will take a moment before it can stand on its own feet, but it will be worth the effort."
