The new sports car with over 500 hp 5.4-liter V8 and sequential 6-speed racing transmission has now been approved by the motorsport governing body FIA and will participate in championships in the USA and Japan as well as selected races in Europe. The two European teams are Farnbacher and Emil Frey Racing already competed in the VLN endurance championships last year with prototypes of the RC F GT3 and aim to compete in GT3 races at an even higher level. They are taking part in various races in Europe this year, including selected events in the International GT Open.
Last year, Lexus became the first Asian manufacturer to win a race in the VLN Endurance Championship. On the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, a prototype RC F GT3 claimed victory in the VLN9 race on October 8.
