Motorsport.TV shows the history of the 24 Hours of Le Mans on the Internet from 1933, i.e. from ten years after the first event. This is only possible because the organizer A.C.O. has released historical film material.

A small downer: After a few minutes, you are prompted to take out a subscription of your choice - but with so much motorsport, which includes thousands of shows in addition to this film series, this may be worth the money to many "starved" fans at the moment. After all, one should now spend a lot of free time at home.

A total of 70 episodes can be viewed. The first film, lasting around 13 minutes, summarizes the races from 1933 and 1934, the second those from 1946 to 1951.

Beautiful and sad memories
After that, almost all the races of the following seven decades can be rewatched in around half-hour summaries. Legendary from a Swiss perspective is the 2011 race when Marcel Fässler celebrates his first victory (of three) at Le Mans with Audi.

Dramatic memories are evoked by the film of 1955, when the greatest disaster in the history of motor racing occurred. This entailed the circuit ban, which in itself is still in force today.
