International and family podium at the 20th ACS Thurgau Kart Cup 2016: Michael Egger from Lustenau (left) prevented the double victory of brothers Florian and Massimo Dei Tos.

A total of 42 riders from all over eastern Switzerland, the Zurich area and even from the two neighboring countries competed in the anniversary event. In five groups, the aim was to secure a good starting position for the preliminary race with a fast lap in the time trial. The best 20 riders then competed against each other in the two semi-final races to decide the coveted ten final places among themselves. The other rankings were determined in four consolation races.

A Vorarlberg man and two brothers on the podium
For the first time, two brothers made it onto the podium. The younger of the two brothers living in Turbenthal, 20-year-old Florian Dei Tos, celebrated a superior start-finish victory in the final race over 30 laps. He also set by far the fastest race lap in 26.327 seconds.

With a gap of 13.07 seconds, 42-year-old Vorarlberger Michael Egger from Lustenau secured second place. Just under a second behind Egger, Massimo Dei Tos (23) finished third in the anniversary race.
