Karting: A lot of variety in Lignières

KZ2 final: Nicolas Rohrbasser chased by André Reinhard and Isabelle von Lerber.

Everything was just right at the third round of the autobau Swiss Kart Championship (SKM). The TCS circuit in Lignières, where car races used to be held, is ideally suited for the sport with small racing vehicles. What's more, the site is perfectly visible to spectators.

In beautiful spring weather, they experienced good motorsport, which offered more entertainment in the battle for the top positions than recently in Wohlen. With long distance world champion Neel Jani and GP3 driver Kevin Jörg, two prominent motorsport personalities also followed the action on site.

They paid particular attention to the KZ2 class, in which the young Swiss drivers receive the final polish before a possible transition to motor racing. Nicolas Rohrbasser stood out the most, winning all three races. "We worked hard and found perfect solutions for the chassis and engine," he said happily. After all, Jani and Jörg do nothing else in their work on the big race tracks to reap success.

Podium KZ2: Nicolas Rohrbasser was once again the greatest on the piste. André Reinhard and Isabelle von Lerber were allowed to stand next to him after the final.

André Reinhard, who recently beat Rohrbasser in at least one of the heats in Wohlen, finished second three times, thus keeping up with the championship to some extent. Last year, Isabelle von Lerber was the brilliant winner, but this time in Lignières she at least made it onto the KZ2 podium in third place for the first time this year.

Final race OK Senior: Following Von Allmen's retirement, Mazou took the lead ahead of Weibel and Kläy. Samuel Weibel crossed the finish line in first place.

In the OK Senior class, Pascal Von Allmen was ahead in both heats and also looked set to complete the triple in the final. When his engine weakened, Hicham Mazou overtook him first, but in the end Samuel Weibel emerged as the winner.

Patrick Näscher was beaten in the Iame X30 Challenge for the first time this season. Steven Planchamp was ahead of the Liechtenstein driver in all three races, but he still leads the SKM with 209 points ahead of the Frenchman (171).

X30 Challenge: In Lignières, Steven Planchamp left the previously dominant Patrick Näscher in his wake.

Mike Müller and Jasin Ferati each won a heat in the CX30 juniors. Ferati initially pulled away slightly in the final, but Müller caught up with last year's champion Savio Moccia, Miklas Born and the leading Ferati one after the other. Müller now has 207 points in the SKM, ahead of Moccia, who came third in Lignières, with 158.

Podium X30 Challenge Junior: The untouchable winner Mike Müller between Jasin Ferati (2nd left) and Savio Moccia (3rd, right).

The biggest points lead in Lignières went to the smallest driver. Elia Sperandio left all his rivals in the Super Mini behind him three times and now clearly leads the SKM with 222 points ahead of Michael Sauter (168). Florent Panès finished second ahead of Shannon Lugassy, who relegated Sauter to P4 on the final lap.

Is this the champion of the Super Mini? After another triple by Elia Sperandio, everything points to it.

It is quite possible that Sperandio will already be crowned champion when the autobau Kart-SM returns to the TCS training grounds on September 17/18 for the seventh and final event of 2017. The race will then be run in an anti-clockwise direction, the usual direction for driving courses.
