Kart-SM: A lot of variety in the new territory Busca

KART-SM Nervous title aspirants, engine failures of the top guys, early starts in the top class KZ2, a lot of fair play in exciting battles and a new winner in the smallest class characterized the races on the new track of Busca (I). KZ2 final: André Reinhard ahead of Sven Müller. Due to Nicolas Rohrbasser's time penalty, Reinhard came to victory retrospectively.

Busca was new territory for the participants in the autobau Swiss Kart Championship (SKM). The track, located south of Turin, with 16 turns and a length of 1602 m demanded everything from the drivers in terms of driving and technique in midsummer temperatures.

In the top class of the KZ2 switch karts, Nicolas Rohrbasser and André Reinhard experienced a rollercoaster of emotions as the two strongest drivers of the current season. While Rohrbasser extended his lead in the standings with two wins in the heats, his opponent initially only had a third-place finish to show for it.

Rohrbasser also finished ahead of Reinhard in the final, but the winner and five other drivers were each given a 5-second time penalty for starting early. So André Reinhard inherited the victory, while Rohrbasser still finished second.

Reinhard was happy about the unexpected victory, but remained realistic: "Of course a final victory is always nice, but overall my deficit in the championship has increased. I simply made too many mistakes in training and in the first race. And now there are only two events left in Levier and Lignières." Third in the final race and in the championship is now Sven Müller.

Applause for a sporting gesture
In the OK Senior class, the increasingly strong Samuel Weibel won both heats clearly ahead of Pascal Von Allmen, who dominated the first third of the season. The latter was leading after the start to the final heat when his engine blocked and Weibel slammed into his rear.

Both spun off the track, but Von Allmen helped his title rival to push his kart back on. The spectators in the stands applauded such fair play.

So Weibel could still finish the race and collect a few points with 8th place, with which the new leader of the standings slightly extended the lead on unlucky Von Allmen. The victory was inherited by young Julien Apothéloz ahead of Yannick Klaey and Ilya Drovossekov.

OC Senior: After the out of Pascal Von Allmen and the fall back of Samuel Weibel, Julien Apothéloz, chased by Yannick Klaey, came to his first victory in the final run.

While Patrick Näscher had dominated the first third of the season in the Iame X30 Challenge, Steven Planchamp was the strong man afterwards with six wins in a row. In Busca, Planchamp also won the first heat ahead of Näscher, but in the second heat he had to admit defeat to Elliott Shaw and Näscher.

In the final, Planchamp even came away empty-handed because the ignition of his engine gave up the ghost on the first lap. Näscher did not miss the chance, the Liechtensteiner won clearly ahead of Micola Vital and Alessandro Buscemi, who both captured their first podium.

After the small hiatus in Mirecourt, Mike Müller showed his best side again in Italy. The budding champion achieved the fastest qualifying time and three undiscounted victories. Jasin Ferati came second in the final ahead of Danny Buntschu.

In the Super Mini, the previously unbeaten Elio Sperandio could have already closed the bag as the first driver from the five SKM classes. In the first two heats, however, Toni Kayla Naude, a girl, left all the boys behind.

In the final, Naude fluffed at the start, while Sperandio did everything right and restored the hierarchy. After a spirited race to catch up, Naude still secured second place ahead of Hugo Giraud.

The last two events of the autobau Kart-SM will take place on August 19/20 in Leviér (F) near the border and on September 23/24 in Lignières at home.
