The management of Auto Sport Schweiz supports this decision. The risk of holding a race in northern Italy, which is particularly at risk from the coronavirus, is clearly too great, says ASS director Patrick Falk. The top priority, he said, was to expose participants and race personnel to the lowest possible risk of infection and quarantine.
Other motorsport events at risk
It remains to be seen whether first races in Switzerland, such as the Kappelen Trophy on March 21 or the Interlaken slalom on April 4, will also be affected by a cancellation.
