Start of the new adventure: During test drives in Italy, Jasin Ferati familiarized himself with the new team and the Tony Kart.

Jasin Ferati finished the past karting season as the runner-up in the Iame X30 Junior class. The 14-year-old from Winterthur made it onto the podium in eight international races. At the X30 World Final in Le Mans, he finished 17th, leaving no fewer than 116 competitors behind him. Without a pile-up at the start, he would have finished even further ahead.

The good results did not go unnoticed. In 2018, Ferati will drive for the top German team KSM Schumacher Racing. The CIK-FIA World Championship on September 23 in Kristianstad, Sweden, and the European Championship in the OK class with four events in Italy, England, Germany and France will be the highlights of a busy racing calendar.

In order to be optimally prepared for this challenging task, Ferati will also contest the professional WSK Series in Italy and the German Kart Championship with identical equipment.

During tests in Lonato in December, the youngster has already integrated well into the new team and gained initial experience with his new sports equipment.

Jasin Ferati: "The TonyKart with Vortex engine is not only more powerful and about two seconds per lap faster than all previous karts I have driven, but also much louder. The braking, power delivery and tire working window are also different. I know that the jump to the top class won't be easy. So I'm all the more pleased to be able to benefit from such a successful team. An experienced teammate like the Dane Nicklas Nielsen is therefore worth his weight in gold."

Famous team boss: Six-time GP winner Ralf Schumacher heads the team founded by his brother Michael in 2008.

KSM Schumacher Racing was founded in 2008 by seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher and two friends. Six years later, Ralf Schumacher took over the reins of the racing team and subsequently meticulously shaped a top international team.

The list of successes is long. In 2009, this year's Sauber F1 driver Pascal Wehrlein became German KF2 champion with KSM. Currently, the team has Leon Köhler as European Champion and ADAC Kart Masters Champion in the KZ2 class of switch karts.
