In qualifying, the mechanic made a mistake in calculating the weight, which led to disqualification. As a result, the 16-year-old junior racer had to start all three heats from 44th place on the grid. Only 40 drivers qualified for the final on SuperSunday.
Thanks to the placings in the midfield, the Swiss Boy was allowed to tackle the hope run in position 5. Here, Miklas Born easily qualified for Sunday's final run in fourth place with the fastest race lap.

In the SuperSunday final, the Swiss then drove as if unleashed from starting position 37 to 19th final place. After heats 2 and 3 and the final, the organizers awarded him the Hard Charger Trophy. Miklas Born also received the Fast Rapid Trophy for the fastest lap in the hope race.
No other driver at this event with more than 500 pilots made up so many places in his race runs and was allowed to receive so many trophies afterwards. Miklas Born is part of the BaselTalents squad and currently attends the WBS sports class in Reinach BL.
In the 2018 autobau Swiss Kart Championship, he finished third in the OK Senior class. Due to his performance in Las Vegas, Born was absent from the ASS championship ceremony, but addressed his colleagues with a video message.
