After weeks of uncertainty, various racing series are resuming their activities under the strictest safety precautions. This also applies to the internationally announced Italian Formula 4 Championship, in which Jasin Ferati is eagerly awaiting his automotive debut.
Training away from the race tracks
The soon-to-be 17-year-old from Winterthur will be taking part in two-day tests at Mugello, Misano and Imola with Jenzer Motorsport this week and the following two weeks. After the long wait, he is highly motivated.
Jasin Ferati: "I'm excited and happy to finally get back in the cockpit three months after the last test. I feel ready for the new challenge in every respect."
For him, the Corona crisis also had its good side.
Jasin Ferati: "I was able to significantly intensify my training once again and now work on strength and endurance almost daily with my new trainer Sedat Nuhiji, following instructions from fitness guru Otmar Keller. The intensive simulator training with my race engineer Luciano Crespi at Jenzer in Lyss has also helped me enormously during this time."
Support from the former Sauber boss
In the meantime, the champion of the German Electric Kart Championship 2019 has also found a new sponsor with the help of his promoter Peter "Baldo" Lattmann. He is now supported by Racing Unleashed, a leading company in virtual racing. Its CEO is former Sauber team boss Monisha Kaltenborn.
Jasin Ferati: "I'm very much looking forward to the future collaboration with my new sponsor and will do everything I can to justify Monisha Kaltenborn's trust."
Racing Unleashed develops state-of-the-art simulators for all racing series and will use them in the most beautiful lounges worldwide. First locations in Switzerland are Cham and Zurich. Kemptthal will soon be added as a third location.
In the future, Jasin Ferati will also be found there frequently to improve in this area as well. One of his tasks will be to bring virtual racing even closer to the real thing.
Race in four countries
Despite the interruption, little has changed in the planned Formula 4 program. In the second half of the year, the top-ranked Italian championship will comprise seven events as planned, with three races each weekend at Budapest, Misano, Le Castellet, Spielberg, Mugello, Monza, Imola and Vallelunga.
At least ten days of testing are planned beforehand. The best-known names in the impressive starting field are Joshua Dürksen, Jonny Edgar, Francesco Pizzi, Sebastian Montoya and Dino Beganovic.
Ferati's teammates at Jenzer are the Romanian Filip Ugran, who is one year older, and the Mexican Santiago Ramos Reynoso, who already took part last year. The objective of the only Swiss driver in this year's team from Lyss is clear.
Jasin Ferati: "Although the competition will be big and strong, I want to finish in the top 10 overall and be up there with the rookies."
