Jasin Ferati: Return with respect 🎥

FORMULA 4 ITALIA In the best-occupied races of the Italian Formula 4 Championship in Imola so far, the drivers from the Jenzer team did not play any leading roles. Jasin Ferati scored points in the rookie classification. The return to the racetrack after almost a month's injury break aroused mixed feelings in Jasin Ferati. Not only does Jasin Ferati have to fight back when warming up before a race, but quick reactions are also required on the post.

Jasin Ferati's return to the race track after an almost month-long injury break aroused mixed feelings. After a successful test day on Wednesday in the dry, nothing was going right in the official practice sessions on the partly wet and very cold Imola GP circuit.

Self-confidence is back
Another setback was the two qualifying sessions, which resulted in the unpromising grid positions of 23, 22 and 26. The performances of the 17-year-old from Winterthur were much better in the three races, in which he was able to work his way up to 18th, 12th and 21st overall thanks to successful maneuvers.

Jasin Ferati: "After the long break in practice, I initially had a bit too much respect for the kerbs and also problems with braking. But fortunately I regained my confidence under race conditions and got through the laps without any major mistakes, although the car really wasn't easy to drive this time."

The Winterthur native is not lacking in driving commitment. But the first top 10 result is still a long time coming.

No Jenzer junior in front
As the top drivers of the already concluded German championship were also on the grid, Imola saw the world's largest Formula 4 grid of the year with 34 drivers. Under these conditions, it was far more difficult to finish in the points. All four juniors from Jenzer Motorsport got to feel this.

A seventh-place finish by Filip Ugran was the best individual result in the second race (with four safety car phases). At the first Imola event at the end of August, the Romanian had won the first race and given the team from Lyss its only victory of the season so far.

The highlights of race 2 in Imola show how hard and sometimes hair-raising the battles are. Filip Ugran's green Tatuus-Abarth F4 was also in the thick of it.

A look at the season finale
In the fiercely contested rookie classification with 26 participants, Ferati achieved his best result of the season so far with seventh place in the second race. But he doesn't want to leave it at that.

Jasin Ferati: "Improving on that and securing third place in the team standings for Jenzer Motorsport are the stated goals in two weeks' time at the season finale in Vallelunga."

Decision made
The championship has already been decided in favor of the highly touted Prema driver Gabriele Mini. The 16-year-old Sicilian made everything clear early on with his fourth win of the season and two second places, becoming the first Italian ever to secure the coveted title.

The other race wins and podium places in Imola were claimed by Swedish Ferrari protégé Dino Beganovic and American RedBull talent Jak Crawford.

With a good final weekend, Filip Ugran as the best-placed Jenzer driver in the championship could well move up into the top three - but in the worst case scenario he could drop from sixth to ninth or tenth place.
